Marni Presents Portrait To Nelson Mandela
Marni was honored to present a Legacy Portrait to Albertina Sisulu on the occasion of her 90th birthday in Johannesburg, South Africa. Nelson Mandela, a long-time family friend was in attendance.

Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu with Legacy Portrait. ‘Mama’ Sisulu’s birthday was also the occasion of a fundraiser to benefit the Walter Sisulu Pediatric Cardiac Care Foundation of Africa. The Foundation’s mission is to provide cardiac surgery to children born with heart defects, who would otherwise be unable to pay for it.
Nelson Mandela and behind him Cardiologist Robin Kinglsey with some of the children whose lives have been saved. Marni donated a triptych of portraits of Walter Sisulu that were auctioned off to benefit the Foundation, and garnered over $20,000.00. This amount was enough to pay for an entire surgery to save the life of a child.
